The perfect house lives on Windy Terrace Circle

Mostly renovated in 2019, this home was (and is) way ahead of its time. Dave Perry Miller’s Michele Balady Beach says it’s just amazing. From the moment you enter. It’s so filled with light and the Japanese maple in the back is HUGE and frames the windows. She said it’s breathtaking all year round, but in the spring it’s really, really something.

The other funniest thing she said? It has a reel. Bigger than a spa, not quite a pool. IT’S A COIL. Surrounded by Trex decking which is basically the go-to for many architects I’ve spoken with. This makes sense because spearheading this redesign was Mark Shektar of Graphic+Design+Group. And did he nail it or did he screw it?

There’s too much to love here. The quad skylights in the office. Doors that fold down so the deck really is your new conference room. The super chic wood slat accent wall in the living room. Custom built-in cabinets in the dining room. The elegant master suite with a sliding glass door serves as a spooky piece of art because again, that backyard. Then there are the primary bathroom counters. AHHHHH. All counters really and light fixtures. LIGHTING.

It’s just one of those houses where there’s a new dropper every inch. It’s so understated and so stunning. The idea of restraint and just the right amount of something special. That’s what we all live for, isn’t it?

I feel like I could write a love limerick on these floors too. They are solid red oak and run throughout the house.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the owners have the most exquisite taste and an art collection to perfection. There aren’t a ton of colors in this house, but it doesn’t have to be, all the textures and materials take over.

I mean we’ve got the design covered now let’s consider the mechanical updates and see if you don’t agree it’s THE PERFECT HOME. In 2019 they replaced all the air conditioning ducts and the air conditioning unit in the back of the house, they replaced the gas water heater in the guest bathroom and they added a custom entertainment center including your boy, Dolby Surround Sound.

The switches are all dimmers and the pool was redone in the fall of 2019. The crawl space was encapsulated and two dehumidifiers were installed. I must, MUST protect these magnificent soils.

If you want to visit 8106 Windy Terrace Circle, just bring a bib because it will make your mouth water. The beach will host open houses from 1-5 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. Sunday. It’s listed for $899,999.
