The Spotlight on Innovation exhibit is an annual tradition at the Cercle des arts de Charlevoix and is one that fills its gallery with artwork from high school students and seniors envisioning a future in arts.

“Our walls are filled with the art of these students from Charlevoix and parts of County Antrim and the works we have received this year are amazing,” said Managing Director Sarah Matye.

The exhibition opened on Friday March 11 and will run until Saturday April 9, showcasing student works in all media including canvas work, painting, mixed media, digital art , sculptures and more.

Exhibiting artists also had the opportunity to have their work evaluated by a representative of Kendall College of Art and Design at Ferris State University and to receive an evaluation of their portfolio.

Awards were handed out at the reception, with artists receiving recognition and possible scholarships to Kendall College of Art and Design.

The Cercle des Arts, in conjunction with the exhibition, also offered several free classes through its Youth Art Lab as well as art kits for children while supplies lasted.

Classes offered include upcoming watercolor painting classes on March 19, an air-dry clay class on March 25, and an introductory sewing class on April 9.
