What to know about the 50th football season at Roy Stewart Stadium

Below is all the info fans need on the upcoming season and game days at Roy Stewart Stadium as the Racers prepare to open the 98th season of college football at Murray State University and the 50e at the historic Roy Stewart Stadium. The Racers host Jacksonville State on Saturday (Sept. 10) in a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Fans won’t want to miss a second of Racers football action in 2022. Season passes start at just $60. All Racers Football season tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at (270) 809-3000 or by visiting the box office in Lower Concourse “A” of the CFSB Center. The Murray State box office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Match Day Fan Ratings

  • Racer reserve seats – Located in and around the “M” at the 50 yard line, the Racer Reserve seats have quickly become the best seats in the house. Features include a comfortable chair back, plenty of legroom, easy access from the lobby, and concessions in seating via GrubHub. Single tickets for the Racer Reserve section can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
  • Free admission for children: Infant-College – All children from birth to college age will receive free admission to all home games this season. For free entry to all games, season ticket wristbands can be picked up at Gates 3-4.
  • Dunker’s Kidz Zone – At each game, children can go to the third floor of Roy Stewart Stadium for a special zone reserved for children. Activities at each game may include football and basketball pop-a-shots and other games. It is also the location of the Junior Racers table presented by Taylor Family Dental.
  • Youngblood RV area – Single-game tickets to the Youngblood RV Zone are still available and include 12 tickets and reserved seating in the North RV Zone for just $500 per game. Single-game tickets for the Youngblood RV Zone can be purchased by calling the box office at (270) 809-3000.
  • Skip the tail – To save time, all single-game tickets, including Racer Reserve, can be purchased in advance, online at Ticketmaster.com.
  • Academic College of the Game – One or two college colleges will be featured each game and there will be a special presentation highlighting each participating college and how they help prepare their students for life after Murray State.
  • Preston Square – Every local gaming business and organization supports the Preston Cope Memorial Scholarship by purchasing a special block of reserved seats in the KK section. All proceeds will directly benefit the Preston Cope Memorial Scholarship and Marshall County Youth.
  • runner’s walk – Approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff, “Call To The Post” will play to signal fans that the Racer Walk is beginning. Team and Spirit Squad members will travel from the CFSB Center to the entrance to the South End Zone of Roy Stewart Stadium. Please plan the route and show your support for the team as they pass!
  • kick off child – Each game, a Taylor Family Dental Junior Runner will be selected to collect the tee after the runners kick off in the first or second half.
  • Runner 1 – Murray State University is the only school in the country that has a racehorse and jockey that circles the track after the home team scores a touchdown! This tradition began in 1976 and is now stronger than ever. Student jockey, Madison Kirby, has the honor in 2022 to continue this incredible tradition at MSU. “Vegas” is the current horse following many others who have played as a Racer 1. He is the first horse in the history of the Racer 1 program to be born and bred at Murray State University Farm. Vegas is an excellent Racer 1 and was born in Murray in 2012.
